MOTHER'S DAY REMINDER
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
May 11 is coming up quick! Come on in and get your mom a gift certificate, or make her something special! Dads, you can bring in the kids and make your own creations for that special woman in your life! We have lots of ideas!
WE'VE MOVED!!
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

The big news from the bead chick is that we’ve moved! But not far – just to the north end of the same building we have always been in, right next to the stamp shop. When that space became available, we took a look at it and realized it was just what we needed!

The “shop” part is slightly smaller but has much more wall space, so we can still offer all the beads we always did. But the best part is that we now have a large classroom area in the back. Since we are a “teaching” bead shop this is important to us, because we can now offer classes during the daytime without interfering with normal shopping activities.

We hope you will come in soon to check out our new location!

NEW CLASS OFFERINGS
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
ENAMELLING: Els Heber, who took classes for two years with a famous enamellist in New York City, is sharing her gifts with us in a session of 4 classes (once a week for 4 weeks) on beginning enamelling. She begins the session with a cloisonne piece, and continues with shading, bezel making, sgraffito, and other enameling techniques. Each classes will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The dates will be posted here soon! The cost is $25 per class plus supplies ($15 or so).
PMC WITH ANN DEVOS: If you, or any of your friends want to learn more about how to use PMC, you have a treat in store! Sign up today for our next PMC class on May 4 with Mary Ann DeVos! Mary Ann has written several books on PMC, is a certified instructor, and teaches at "all the posh spots!" She will be focusing on hollow pieces (i.e. joining two domed circles), but I know we'll all learn many other techniques from her. $95, your supplies included. Sunday, May 4 from 1-5 pm.
RING MAKING: Melinda Stevison teaches how to combine sterling silver wire and beads to create a stunning ring. The techniques taught in this class will allow you to use your imagination to produce a number of different looks - dressy and elegant or fun and funky! Her class will be on May 17, from 1-3. It will cost $45, plus supplies.
GLASS BEAD MAKING: An all-day class, on Sunday May 18 from 10-4, Chris Gorman will get you on the torch, and you will make enough glass beads to get you hooked! Chris is a great instructor, and will teach you safety, basic techniques and beyond. $150, includes your supplies.
PUFFY CRYSTAL HEART
INSTRUCTION BOOK and KITS!
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

We are very excited to present Susie Moncada's complete instructions on how to create Puffy Crystal Hearts! As you may remember, Susie taught this popular technique to bead chick groups on November 9 and 10.

In her book, Susie details each step in the process in clear language using full color photos for each step. This book is a "must-have" for any beader's library and are in limited supply.

In conjunction with Susie Moncada's book, we are offering complete kits in many colors at a savings of 20% over purchasing the supplies "a la carte." We are also happy to make these beautiful hearts as custom orders to save you time when you just can't take on another craft project. Please see our Featured Products page for complete details.

After hours, we offer special classes on more advanced techniques or special projects, on Tuesday and Thursday nights (see the Newsletter page). the bead chick motto:
"May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of you." St. Therese of Lisieux
